Land Rover Repair: rear propshaft, propshaft, diff lock

Question
Hi John.
I was reading your response to another guy.
I have a problem with the support bearing on the rear prop of my L model. I have removed the rear propshaft expecting it to drive on the front shaft only but this will not happen. I have tried engaging the low box which i thought was a diff lock too but it still will not drive. is this correct.
Thanking you in advance
Paul

Answer
Hi Paul,

You'll have to lock the CDL manually.  Go to www.Discoweb.org to see how this is done - photos too, I believe.  Do a search on Disco II CDL

Briefly :

use a 10mm open-ended wrench to turn the CDL nut
"10mm (pretty sure) open end wrench. Turn towards passenger seat.
Crawl under truck... feet towards rear Diff. Drivers cat right ear.
look up at transfer case. right hand side....FLAT SPOT on bottom.
Directly above that is the nipple. At the bottom of the nipple is a piece that a 10mm wrench will grab. " -discoweb jhk07

Best of luck,
JohnMc
