Land Rover Repair: Revs hanging up on slow down, autologic, data stream

My L-Series FREELANDER revs hang at between 1250-1500 rpm when declutching and changing gear, also, if I stop and just sit there with engine on idle, the revs sometimes go up to 2500 rpm then start to go down again. I suspect TPS, wondered if you aagree? Thanks, John

The TPS is certainly a possibility but I would connect a T4 or Autologic system and drive the car while watching the live data.  The data stream should reveal the reason for the high idle.  I would follow that road rather than just throwing parts at it.
