Land Rover Repair: Range Rover Sport SE 2005, range rover sport, parking brakes

Question
Hi,

I am trying to remove the rear calipers from RR Sport to no avail. I see there is a small hole on the rotor and would suggest this allows access to a release key or something to get the brake off.
Please can you tell me how I can remove them and then get them back on?
I am able to remove the calipers %26 pin. It appears the handbrake is catching on the inside similar to a drum brake.

While I was easily able to change the front, I do have limited knowledge!!

Thanks,

Brian

Answer
As far as I know, you can only do that by using the factory test system to release the calipers.  I have had Rovers in our shop with fried rear brakes because the electric parking brakes were not properly released and then reset, and they bound up and burnt the drums.  You may want to buy a day's access to the factory website www.landrovertechinfo.com and read about this but I'm afraid it may be a specialist shop only job
