Land Rover Repair: 1998 range rover hse, ranger rover, worrie

Hello, I just bought a 98 ranger rover HSE and im a little worrie because it has 103,000 miles on it now. it sound rough sometime like a big truck doesnt sound smooth im not sure if that how they are suspose to sound. And i keep getting a gear box overheat it will pop up every now and then and go away or just make the beeping sound any ideas??? Any service things i should have done or looked at becides oil? thanks, Andrew

I suggest you have a good Land Rover person look the truck over for potential problems.  Since you just bought it you probably don't know how it should feel or act and I can't help you from here.  You need a good LR person to drive it and check it out.

Gearbox overheat lights are usually a result of bad switches.  But you never know for sure till you check it.
