Land Rover Repair: 2000 Disco series II--Faulting start & low Idle in the morning, obd ii scan tool, vacuum leaks

Question
Hi John,
This morning the car started then it quickly died when i was pulling out the drive way.  Then it would not start after several attempts.  After consulting the manual, I pressed the accelerator half way in and turned the key for about 7-10 seconds until the engine kicked in.  Then the car idled at very low RPMs (roughly 2500-to 4000).  When I drove it for a awhile and the car warmed up it then idled normally and it sounded fine.  FYI i do live in the mountains, but the temp the night before never dropped below 40 degrees  Farhenheit.
I appreciate your advice/expertise on what could be the caulprit.

Answer
Anything I might say now is nothing but a wild guess.

Find someone with an OBD II scan tool and see if you can read any fault codes.  If so, they will point you toward further tests.  Make sure the common tune up stuff is up to date . . .correct LR platinum plugs, throttle body clean, no vacuum leaks.
