Lexus Repair: 95 sc 300, spark plug wires, denso plugs

Question
I have a chance to purchase a 95 sc 300 with 146000 on it for $1500. The car will start right up and idle smooth for a short time, then seems to lose a cylinder. We found a bad plug wire and it runs better, but still has a miss. The check engine light does not come on and there is no code in the computer. I'm thinking it's probably another wire, but not sure. Any advise?

Answer
Pull the leads one at a time while it's missing. If you pull one and it doesn't make a difference - that cylinder has poor spark.
You could also have poor compression, or incorrect fuel delivery. It takes spark, fuel, compression, and all of it at the right time to run.

Check the compression / do a leak down-test after warming the engine up before buying it.
ONLY use NGK, or Denso plugs, and ONLY use ATLEAST NGK, or Denso quality spark plug wires. DO NOT put cheap fucking Bosch, Autolite, or any "parts store" components on that ignition system.

And if you buy it. Flush the coolant, change the thermostat & pressure caps. Flush the transmission fluid.
THE DAY YOU BUY IT!!! It's probably $1500 for a good reason. ;)
