Lexus Repair: LEXUS 400 POWER STEERING LEAK, power steering stop leak, lexus 400

Question
ZAK i stupidly put power steering stop leak in the pump instead of trans. fluid. how do i drain the whole system. i suctioned the resv. the next day but i am getting a growl in the steering. Have i caused major damage already ? the unit is leaking at the line connection to the pump is there a gasket kit of any kind. where can i get it?

Answer
Hello Ray, If you put P/S stop leak in the P/S pump, and it is the P/S that is leaking that was the right place. Stop leak will not cure any problems, but it will cause more problems. Stop leak swells the seals which will cause more leaks down the road. It sounds like by your discriptions that the high pressure P/S hose is leaking which is common. Best way to correct this is by putting a new hose on.
