Lexus Repair: traction control light stays on, continuity tester, control thanks

Hi,  I have a 1999 ES300 V-6 the check engine light stays on and the traction control light stays on all the time. When I push the traction control switch nothing happens.I took the traction control switch off the wiring harness and tested the switch itself with a continuity tester and it appears the switch is okay. Do you have any other ideas that would make the traction control light stay on all the time? The car runs fine, no other problems, cruise control works, all lights are operative. I believe the check engine light comes on only because something is up with the traction control.

Hello Gary, When the Trac computer detects a problem in the Trac system it will no longer allow the Trac to go on. It may be raleted to the engine light problem but the only way to find out whats going on is that you will need to bring to a shop that can extract the trouble codes.
