Lincoln/Mercury Repair: blower motor problems, mercury grand marquis, ballast resistor

Question
Have a 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis, blower only works on high, been told it could be ballast resistor or switch itself, how can I pinpoint the problem and how do I fix, car has 190,000 miles and still going strong and want to keep it that way. Thanks

Answer
Hi Peggy,

I am reading that it is one of two things. The Blower Speed Control or the Automatic Tempeture Control. If you do not have ATC then have the blower speed control switch replaced. Otherwise, most of the info I have on this points to the ATC switch.
