how hard is it to change the starter?

not that hard but very timely V6 model before you do so purchase a thottle body gasket there about 10 bucks you've have to remove the air ducking and the thottle body to get to itunder the thottle body  4clyinder remove the bracket between the intake and the starter it's buy the drive axle
