Question
QUESTION: I had a noise from rear of vehicle when driving.Jacked up vehicle and tried to drive while jacked up to check what was causing noise,but while driving the car was vibrating.changed n/s rear wheel,
Now the vehicle does not change gears when in drive!feels like its in 3rd only.But when you stop switch off engine,start shift into drive it engages into 1st drives changes then remains in 3rd/4th gear.Even if shifted into 1 on the gear lever no channge.Also the S/W switch does not work?

ANSWER: As far as the s/w switch are you talkingt summer/ winter I assume. Chances are your switch is stuck on the winter switch or you have something else wrong with your tranny (im assuming) check back with me..go to benzworld.org and fill out a profile and search the forums

QUESTION: Hi Shane tell me has the diff ratio affect the transmission that it goes into limp mode?I have changed the diff %26 used a E320 one same model W210?I have also tried to program TCU with the ignition on press accelerator to max switch off,still pressing accelerator wait 2/3sec remove key after 2/3 mins,Have also disconnected the battery for a few mins & reconnected does not change.I have checked the forums but dont seem to get the problem cause & repair from it.

as far as your question what is %26? are you sure you used the correct differential . The diff must match up. As in they must have same stamped numbers so same year same model. I think as far as limp mode you can try to get an obd2 scanner and read the codes ,otherwise you have to get a star equivilant system and read erase the codes, go on craigslist and check for MB mechanics in your area with a star scanner or MB scanner to clear the limp mode code . or get a new etc unit and it should clear the codes
