Mercedes Benz repair: Hood Pad Installation, mercedesshop, shopforum

While your expertise' is not on 2001 Mercedes, my question is rather general. The hood pad on my wife's 500 SL has deteriorated rather badly and I need to replace it. Your company has a pad (02040-74534) in stock. Replacing the pad appears rather easy but what kind of glue do you recommend? Also are there any tips you could provide on the best and easiest way to replace the pad? Also the info on the pad states the it is from Gemany. Does this mean that it is an original Mercedes pad?
