MERCEDES 300TD 1985 BLOW BY
THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF BLOW-BY, EVEN COMING OUT FROM
UNDERNEATH THE OIL CAP GASGET

I CHANGED THE OIL USING HIGH QUALITY 15W 40W DIESEL OIL.
I PUT A NEW GASGET ON THE CAP THE CAP FITS VERY TIGHT
THE OIL PRESSURE IS STRONG THE CAR RUNS GREAT.

How many miles?

Be sure the air cleaner oil separator drain tube O ring is good, if it is bad or the tube is not connected = massive smoking.
Also check the turbo drain tube, if it is leaking = heavy smoke.
If the turbo seals are bad = very heavy smoke, and possible run away diesel.
Run away diesel, why does it happen?

To check for blow by:
Remove oil fill cap, start engine, watch for puffing from oil fill, if you see little or none, there is no issue.
If it looks thick and dark, engine rebuild is needed.
