MG Car Repair: 1969 MGB, brake light switch, jumper wire

Question
Good morning
I have recently purchased a 1969 mgb from  a gentlemen who has had this car stored in his barn for quite some time.
I've found that I have no brake lights and no horn.
Headlights and tail light and directionals do  work.  I don't know what wires in the fuse box belong to the brake lights and the horn.  everything else works.......so i don't know what to do......please help.   thanks

Answer
Hi Jonathan,
You need a test light to follow the circuits as the horn and the brake lights have nothing to do with each other and are on different circuits. First check for power at the fuse box on the green wires and on the purple wires with the key on. If that is ok go to the horns and check for power at the purple wire for the horns and to the green wire on the brake light switch.
On the horns if the purple wire is hot ground the other wire to test the horns and if they are ok you have either a disconnected wire going to the horn push or a problem in the steering column connection.
On the brake lights, if you have power at the green wire just put a test jumper wire across the switch to see if the brake lights come on.
