Mitsubishi Repair: Timing marks, camshaft, timing belt

Question
Sir, I was able to replaced the water pump of my Galant '91 model 2.0 DOHC not knowing that I have to set first the timing marks of the camshaft, crankshaft, etc. before pulling out the timing belt. I have no idea what to do next because of my mistake. Can you give me a step by step instructions on what to do now. Your help will be highly appreciated. Hoping to receive your valued instructions the soonest. Thanks and more power!

Answer
Romell,
Unfortunately, I do no have a service manual for that old of a Galant.  But the engine is similar that of the older Eclipse, and this following reference may be helpful:

But your timing should be retained as long as NOTHING turned when you installed your new water pump.  As long as the camshaft gears did not turn and the crankshaft didn't turn, you should be ok to simply install the timing belt again. Though if you're really nervous about trying this, then you should have consider having your car towed to a mechanic to have them do it.
Good luck!
