Mitsubishi Repair: 91 mitsu mighty max-blown motor, auto salvage yards, mazda b2200

I have a blown engine in my truck. I have been trying to locate a replacement motor, and have had a little luck. I found a '88 motor rebuilt, but I talked to another guy and he said the '88 is 2.0 and it wont work since my '91 is a 2.4. I just want to know for sure, cause it would seem like they would have the same bolt pattern. Also, would any other motor (like a mazda b2200) might work. I have been told it has to be a '91 mighty max motor. I dont want to do any modifying to make a motor fit unless it is minor or I just have no otbher choice. If nothing else maybe you might know where I can locate a motor. Thank you very much for time.

I don't know much about the engine compatibilities in the Mighty Max.  I would recommend calling up any local auto salvage yards in your area.  If they do not have any replacements, they typically belong to a network of salvage yards across the country that can help track down a replacement motor for your truck.
