Mitsubishi Repair: odometer, rpm, gas & temp gauges not working, worst case scenario, 2000 mitsubishi mirage

Question
I have 2000 Mitsubishi mirage 1.8 125000 miles. In the cool morning all the gauges are fine after driving about 30 minutes when its already hot all the gauges stop functioning the odometer disappear, speed & rpm are not moving, gas level stay on the same level when everything stop functioning... Also when I park outside under the sun when its really hot the gauges not gonna function... What seems wrong with this car is it the computer parts issue ?

Answer
Edwin,
This does sound like an electrical problem.  The issue may be with the power that feeds into the gauge cluster.  There may be a weak connection, and as components heat up, they build up resistance.  If the resistance gets high enough, it can cut the voltage enough to prevent the gauges from working.  The ignition wires typically feed power to gauge cluster.  But most any mechanic should be able to trace back in the circuit where the voltage drop is occurring and should be able to correct it.  Worst case scenario is that you'd need to replace the entire gauge cluster.
Good luck!
