Mitsubishi Repair: belt, alternater, galant

Question
on a 00 galant how do i change the belt that goes around the alternater? do i
need to loosen the drive belt? if so how do i do that?

David: You will have to find the alternator brace bolt and loosen that. Then there is an alternator support bolt you will have to take that out, then will have to unplug the wires to the alternator and I believe there is a screw or too. Yes, you will have to loosen the drive belt, it would be a good idea to replace both the drive belt and the alternater belt together. Other wise you may be doing this again down the road. Make sure you get the belt centered. Hope this helps and good luck! ~Linda~
