Mitsubishi Repair: 1999 Mitsubishi Galant Anti Theft, mitsubishi galant, oxygen sensor

Question
I recently bought a 1999 Galant, took it last week to be inspected & was told the oxygen sensor was bad (by a Mits dealer). Had them replace it & was told had to drive it around another 50 miles or so to clear the computer & then they would be able to complete inspection. Now its a week later, still have to take it back to inspect BUT now it won't start. Turned the key & it does nothing. All the lights come up on the dash. Tried to jump it thinking the battery was dead & no good. Is it possible that it won't start due to factory anti theft system? I have 2 remotes (1 works, other doesn't). Maybe I grabbed wrong one, hit button & didn't realize that I did not deactivate system which triggered a kill switch? Can't check the manual because its in the car right now at my job (had to leave it)! By the way, prior to it not starting it seemed to be running fine. Would hate to tow it to dealer after paying $650 last week only for them to bang me bogus charges now! Thanks for the help!! I appreciate it!

Answer
Lisa: Listen girl, you need to get after that dealership that did the work on the car.I mean you paid them $650 to fix the car and now it won't start?! If the car was running well starting ok when you took it to the dealer and now it won't start. Then they replaced that oxygen sensor they must have done something to the car. You need to call them to tell them what is going on. And that being the car ran and started ok, when you took the car to them. And now it won't start what is going on? It could be that anti theft thing or something else. Does the car try to start at all? I really think the dealer should have to pay for the towing after all they had the car last and now it won't start. Could be they did not put the oxygen sensor in right and therefore the computer won't let it start. I never heard of driving it around to clear the computer, the computer has to be cleared. I mean they took it up to their computer and then sends a clear code which then clears the computer. I so hate how some places, shops and dealerships treat women when they get their cars fixed. But you need to call and talk to the top guy on the repair shop of that dealership. They need to stand behind their work, now if the car drove into that shop but now won't start then they need to tow the car in and fix whatever they broke so the car won't start now. If you can't do this or feel they won't listen to you. Got a dad or a male friend that might make this call? But you need to take this car back to that shop, that is a lot of money you just paid out and you paid that so that you would have a car that ran. Please keep me posted. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
