Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Mistubishi Montero Sport, montero sport, gas tank

Question
My 98 Montero Sport sprung a leak in the steel line just outside the gas tank, do I have to drop the whole gas tank down to get to and replace this unit on the top of the tank?

Rick: Sorry but you will have to drop the gas tank to get to that line. Some cars have a door in the bottom of their tunk to get to the fuel pump. But just to the fuel pump not the lines. So you will have to remove the tank to get to that line. Hope this helps and good luck! Linda
