Mitsubishi Repair: i need help on a 1990 mitsubishi eclipse, vacuum leak, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
the motor keeps over flooding and i have replaced the regulator and it still over floods what do you think is wrong with it

Answer
Lori: It could be one of many things, I will send you some of my ideas. But you should put the car into a shop and let them find your problem. I think maybe you might have a bad vacuum hose, as in a leak in one. Or it could be bad EGR valve, purge control solenoid valve might be bad, again the vacuum port blocked, could be a bad sensor in the throttle body not telling the computer that all is well with the fuel, so the computer is still sending more fuel into the engine. Got an AutoZone could by? Would not hurt to have your car coded to rule out any problems with the computer or sensors through out your car, AutoZone would do that for free. You did not say if the car has a carburetor or is fuel injection. So I looked in my repair manual and shot you some ideas. That is all these are, not wrote in stone. But ideas from my repair manual, to find a vacuum leak you would need a shop to do that, sometimes they are hard to find. I do hope this helps some and good luck! Linda
