Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 Mitsubishi Gallant V6, mitsubishi gallant, bad computer

Hi Anthony,

Came across you on the http://experts.about.com/q/824/index.htm page and desperately need your help but could not really find the facility to ask the question on the mentioned page.

Anyway, the problem with my car is that it starts then something clicks behind the dashboard and then the car goes off. I took it to the Aircon people to fill up the AC but when I got it back, it had this clicking noise from behind the dashboard. It goes off after about a minute. The car was still running fine but after a couple of weeks, the problem i mentioned earlier starts. Its about a month now since i took it to my mechanic but he cannot really pinpoint what the problem is.
Would really appreciate your help and expert advice.

A clicking noise behind the dash means you may have a malfunctioning relay or possibly a bad computer.  But a common cause of a clicking noise behind the dash is a bad computer. It would be the sound of your computer resetting itself.  Read this site for further information:

Have your ECU pulled and inspected for damage.  You may need to have it replaced.
