Mitsubishi Repair: No power to cigarette lighter, mitsubishi galant, socket assembly

1996 Mitsubishi Galant

I was running a portable compressor and lost power to the cigarette lighter socket. Fuse checks OK but replaced it anyway. do you know of a second fuse or fusible link?

I believe there is a small fuse that is located in the lighter socket housing itself.  You'll need to remove the lighter socket assembly to gain access to that fuse.  While you have that assembly out, check the contacts on it to make sure they are clean and not corroded.  The fuse is most likely a common one.  You can probably find a replacement at any major hardware store or Radio Shack.
