i have a 1992 mitsubishi  galant   put a transmission in it worked when i took it out of another car it pulls but will not change into another gear  can u give me any insight into this problem took the transmission ot of the same make and model  does it have a micro chip  total electrical transmission

There's a chance the transaxle control until (TCU) in the car you put the transmission in may not be allowing the transmission to shift.  Even though you have the same make, model, and year, you should bring over the TCU as well.  Even the slightest difference from a transmission swap can cause shifting problems.  You should also verify that your manual linkage is adjusted properly and that you have sufficient transmission fluid in it.
