Motorcycle Repair: Valves on a 1966 honda cb160, crankshaft rotation, honda cb

I have a 1966 Honda CB. With the head off the motor and at TDC should both cylinder valves be closed.

Nick, the CB160 motor has a 360 degree crankshaft, so each cylinder fires alternately.

Thus, one side is on compression and the other side is on overlap (both valves slightly open) then they alternate on the next 360 degree crankshaft rotation
