Motorcycle Repair: 92 Heritage, riding bike, circuit breaker

Question
Was riding, bike spuutered and quit. Ignition problem, now I have no starter and no ignition. I have a neutral light, headlight, horn, etc. Circuit breaker under dash is tripping. From there I have no idea, didn't see anything obvious with the wiring. Have the tank off but no luck finding a problem.

Answer
your circuit breaker popping means you have a short. I would start by disconnecting the breaker on both sides. Then turn the power on. If it pops then you know you have a problem before the breaker. If it doesnt then you know its after the breaker. I have seen breakers go bad, so I would also replace the breaker. Once you have determined which side the breaker is bad, then you will have to start tracing the wiring, looking for chaffed or damaged wiring.
Good luck and happy riding
