Motorcycle Repair: time to replace gears in 82 Honda V45, honda v45, honda shop

Repairing the transmission on a 82 Honda V45. How long does replacing a gear or fork take by splitting the case as instructed by the Service Manual? Looks like alot of work.

Circus, I have never had to perform that job, thankfully. You could call the Honda shop and ask what their flat rate time is, then multiply it by 2x for a first timer, no doubt. You may need special tools to remove parts of it, so study the book carefully before you dive in and find out that you can't do a part of the process without the proper tool. If that is not the case, then just lay out plenty of work space before you tackle the job, as it isn't a simple task.

Sorry, I can't give you a more specific answer, but it is an uncommon repair.
