QUESTION: The front plug is white and rear some white is showing. He was told that when installing a k&n filter he needed to re-jet carb and he has a stock carb with a v&h exhaust.

ANSWER: Since your plugs are white then you are running lean, whick will cause the problem you are having. Sounds like the mech did not rejett correctly.

QUESTION: What would be a good starting point for jet # for pilot jet 45? and do i have to replace the main jet also?

Answer
If it were me I would install a Dyna-jet kit. It will guide you through picking the correct jets, give more throttle responce and richen the bike back up to where it should be. Its east to install, so you can do it yourself
