Motorcycle Repair: Speedometer is out, speedometer, speedo

My speedometer just went out and sits at 0 on my 1982 Harley FXRS. It is a front wheel driven speedometer.
Any way to fix it or is it junked now?

First you need to determine what the problem is. Remove the cable from the speedo. Lift the front tire off the ground and spin the wheel. then inner cable should turn. If not, pull the cable out of the jacket and make sure it is not broken. If it not then the speedo drive unit is bad. If it turns with the wheel then the speedo is bad and needs replaced.
