Motorcycle Repair: manifold gaskets, ring gaskets, manifold gaskets

I have a 75 sportster. I had recently taken the carb off to have it cleaned. I cannot get the rubber o-ring gaskets to seat back where they are supposed to. They look to be in good shape. Is there an easy way to do this?

those o-ring gaskets are a real pain. What I do is put them on the manifold, but push them back over the lip so they stay on there. Then I hold the manifold where it should be and pop one o-ring to where its should be and put the clamp on. then I do the other.
