Motorcycle Repair: Taking bike out of long storage, shadow 750, honda dealer

Question
I have a 1999 Ace Shadow 750 with about 12k miles.

About four years ago I got suddenly sick and couldn't ride nor do anything with the bike (including prepping it for storage) for over a year.  I'm trying to get her running again. At the advice of the local Honda dealer, I changed the oil, added gas with a cleaning additive.

After much playing with choke and throttle, I was able to get the bike to put-put. It eventually got to an idle but it stalled with any attempt to add throttle.

I think it may need a carb rebuild. Do you agree? Anything else to look at first?

Answer
Yes. I agree.  The carb definitely needs to rebuilt!-- As gas sits it breaks down and becomes a solid.  Change all fuel filters.  Fuel tank needs to be removed and cleanned. The additive that was added did not help any because everything had been sitting for a while.
