Motorcycle Repair: Honda ATC 185s Wont Start, honda atc, engine noise

This ATC is a little newer than 1980, but I thought you might have an answer and I appreciate any help.  I bought a 1983 Honda ATC 185S that is in real nice shape.  I put gas in her and she fired right up.  Was idling a little low, but ran good.  No smoke or engine noise.  I stalled it out when turning around, so I put it in neutral and tried to start it back up.  Tried for 20 minutes but couldn't get it started.  I figure its got to be something simple because it ran so well.  I can't find an owners manual so I thought I would check the forums.  Thanks for any information you can provide.

Ken, pull the plug and see if it's wet or black.  It could be a fouled plug.  If it's fouled, the carb may need to be cleaned and adjusted.  If the engine is getting too much fuel it will run good until it starts to warm up and then it will die.  It won't start until it cools down completely.
