Motorcycle Repair: rocker cover bolts, seat area, fuel lines

QUESTION: is it ok to re tighten the bolts on the rocker cover to my 02 FLHT,i noticed that the rear bolts are not tight. Dont have leeks yet.... also if its ok to tighten any sugestions on removing the tank to tighten the bolts covered by the tank.....thanks Dave


ANSWER: You can tighten the bolts without problems. If you cant get to them, then you have to remove the tank to tighten them.

There is really no problems with removing the tank. You just have to drain the gas, remove the seat and center console. You can remove it and just fold it back to the seat area. remove the fuel lines and the crossover line and then the bolts holding it on.
