Motorcycle Repair: Clutch Adjustment, clutch adjustment, clutch lever

Question
I have a 1990 FXR with an open primary.  I recently experienced problems with the bike rolling forward while at a stop with the clutch lever engaged.  I have been told I need to adjust my clutch.  Some say to adjust from the clutch line while others say to adjust from the primary.  Please let me know what way is best an how to correct the issue.

Answer
You need to do both. Loosent he cable so there is slack in it, then adjust the clutch itself. then go back to the clutch cable and adjust it. You neede about 1/8 turn play in the clutch adjster and about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever
Good luck and happy riding
