Motorcycle Repair: 1976 honda CJ360T, punch marks, serial number plate

Question
Hello, I just bought a 76 CJ360, showing 17000 miles and have a few questions if possible.
First there is a rattley kind of noise from the top end during idle or at any engine speed for that matter, like something is loose or way out of adjustment. I think it might be a cam chain/tensioner but I cant find a chain or tensioner anywhere? and with that in mind how would I adjust it if possible?
Secondly I was wondering what the service interval/ procedure steps would be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Sounds like you have a noise camchain to me.  I think the tensioner adjuster lock nut is in the front of the crankcase in the middle just below the cylinder block.   Look on the engine serial number plate and see if there are two punch marks. Those punch marks indicate the two recalls have been done to address the cam chain problems those bikes had.

Good luck
