Motorcycle Repair: TIMEING, honda dream, scribed line

Question
I HAVE A 1965 HONDA DREAM 305 PUTTING IT BACK TOGETHER NOW I HAVE A MANUL BUT PICTURE NOT CLEAR, HAVE CAM MARK RIGHT IS THE MARK ON STATER,SUPPOSED TO BE RIGHT ON THE T OR ON THE LINE BEFORE THE T, RIGHT NOW ITS ON THE LINE BEFORE THE T YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREAT,TRBECKER4@AOL.COM THANK YOU.

Answer
If my memory is correct, there are two different sets of marks on the flywheel.  There's a T and F and then two marks about 1/2-5/8 of an inch away from those marks.  The F stands for Fire and it's the ignition timing mark when the bike is idling.  The mark next to it is the T which is the topdead center mark.  The other two marks are the timing advance marks.  When you rev the engine up to 3000 rpm or higher, the ignition timing should advance to be between those two marks. Align the stator indicator pointer with the scribed line next to the T.  The line closest to the two advance marks is the ignition timing mark so the other mark is the top dead center mark.

That's difficult to describe without a picture so I hope it's clear.

If not, fire me off a note and I'll try to do better.
