Motorcycle Repair: 2000 1200 sportster, stock air filter, dyna jet

Mike: I have a 2000 sportster 1200. I replaced the stock air filter with a full mesh air filter, now I have a miss when in higher mphs in 2nd and 3rd gears.  The new kit came with what appears to be 2 hose connections which are mounted with the 2 mounting screws.  Should these hose connections be closed off? and would this fix the miss?  Thanks George

Dont close those off, theya re breather hoses. You probably leaned out your bike by changing to a more open air filter. Get a Dyna-jet kit and install it and it should run fine. The kit will give you the jets you need to richen it back up
