Motorcycle Repair: Stator, clutch basket, voltage test

QUESTION: How hard is it to install a new stator.. Battery will not stay charged so I am assuming that this is the problem or regulator.. Thanks

ANSWER: Help me out a little, what year and model?

First you need to do a OHMs test and a AC voltage test ont he stator to make sure it bad and not the regulator.
In order to install it you have to remove the primary cover, clutch basket, motor sprocket, starter, jackshaft and inner primary.
If you planning on doing this yourself, I suggest you buy a service manual to follow.
