Motorcycle Repair: 1981 goldwing radio problem, left turn signal, clarion radio

Question
We can not get the volume to work on our 1981 GL Goldwing. The display works and you can just faintly hear the radio. There is no crackling like a blown speaker. What could it be.We dont have headset helmets.Could it be the amplipher or a blown fuse?

Answer
Joel,

you may need a radio technician to
check out the radio. It could be the amplifier
circuit. The fuses are usually under the left
turn signal base. The amplifier circuit
may have a fuse or loose plug on the terminal,
it is the red wire there and probably
a green wire into the fuse block.
This supposes you have a Clarion radio.
Some use Panasonics as well.
With a radio it could also be an internal
fault.
