Motorcycle Repair: 1500 Honda gold wing, honda gold wing, blowing the fuses

Question
I was riding my 1998 Honda Gold Wing SE and as I was stoped at a traffic light, as soon as the light turned green, I went to take off and my bike died?? No elec power at all?? The relay box next the fuses box just hums?? (on the left side of the bike)It seems like not enought power is getting to the relay box?? Batt is 4 months old. I turn on the key, the dash lightsare very weak and no way will it kick over. I put a 12 volt batt charger on it for about 3 hours @ 6 amps and lights got briter but as soon as I presses the starter switch the power is gone?? Can you please help?? I checked the main fuse and it looks good??

Answer
Richard,

-it sounds like you have a bad ground or connection
on the battery or frame grounds.

-Also check (from the top) fuse 8 and fuse 11(ign)
The top right relay #3 should be checked or switched
with a good one and also the bottom left #6 relay.

-#3 relay is the fuel system and #6 is power to the coils.
and is connected to the bank angle sensor also.

-If it is not blowing the fuses then it is not
likely a short. More likely a bad connection
or relay. Have you tried disconnecting the
starter cable from the solenoid in case
the starter or solenoid is jammed or faulty?

-Check your starter and solenoid connections
and also the battery positive and grounds especially.
