Motorcycle Repair: chromed front fork kit, harley dealer, head bolt

Question
QUESTION: hi i was wondering if its pretty simple to change out my front fork kit on my 2007 street glide i bought the kit at the harley store the other day 15% off so i need to put it on is it a bear? they want 210 to do it (3 hours) labor.

ANSWER: What you have to do is jack the bike up and remove the front wheel, fender and brake. Once you have them off you drain the fork oil. at the bottom of the fork there is a allen head bolt. remove it and take the top cap off. remove the clip holding the seal. Slide the fork lower downward until it comes off and replace the parts and insall in reverse.

Answer
you should be able to remove the bolts on the sleeve and let is slide down. Once you remove the lower forks you can install the new one.
The only way to get the fluid back in is to hook a vaccumn pump tot he air fitting and suck it back in
