Motorcycle Repair: kz650C3, float bowls, air leaks

Question
I have a kz650C3 with 5,589 miles. It has been garage for a majority of it's life. Starts fine, runs smooth except for a little....pop coming from the Kerker. Pop is not all the time. And also a little hesitation on the throttle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
William,

-it's not uncommon for bikes to pop occasionally
in the exhaust pipe, especially if they are
not used much. Gas can go bad in less than
a month of storage. Carb jets can get gummed up
easily under these circumstances.

-If it is minor popping etc. I would suggest
adding some fuel treatment like "Seafoam"
-Try draining the float bowls and adding
fresh fuel.
-Make sure the exhaust system is tight so
no air leaks can cause an afterburn.
-check plugs and air filter.
If the popping gets worse you may have to clean the
carbs, idle jet, main jets, etc.
