Motorcycle Repair: 2006 Harley Ultra intermittent starting, clutch cable, exaust system

Question
I have a 2006 ultra with 33000 miles on it.  The trouble is that once in a while the starter will click and thats all.  There are times when I keep pushing the starter button it will go, but not always.  Heat is not a factor as it will do it when cold or hot.  My Dealer has cleaned all the grounds but I was again pushing the bike after a few days.

Answer
Hi Dave,

When this happens, grab ahlod of the clutch cable AFTER youve tried a few times..Is it HOT?
I know this sounds like a strage question, however it is VERY common for dealerships to overlook one particular ground wire that isnt very easy to get to, plus that takes some time, effort and the removal of the exaust system....
The bracket on the back of the starter that resmbles the letter "A" has the MAIN battery ground on it.When this is not grounded, this is exactly what happens..
Try that and go from there...

Hope this helps!
