Motorcycle Repair: Headlamp replacement, honda aspencade, rear brakes

On a 1996 Honda Aspencade, how difficult is replacing the headlamp (right side is burned out)? What are the steps?    Also, on the same bike, should the rear brakelight come on when only the front brake is applied?

The rear brake light should illuminate when front and rear brakes are applied.
