Motorcycle Repair: 1984 Honda Goldwing Interstate (Transmission), goldwing interstate, honda goldwing

I have changed the oil filter and oil with 20-50 motorcycle oil.  The transmission slips once the engine has gotten to operating tempture. The longer I ride the more the transmission slips. What could be the problem?  Is the transmission going out?

Hi Ken.

It is very likely that the clutch needs to be rebuilt.  After 22 years, you can expect to have to replace a few items, since they don't last forever.  For any smaller bike, I would say just go ahead and do it yourself, but unless you have a garage to work in, just take it to the shop to do the work.  The GL series is not the easiest engine to work on for things like this.
