Motorcycle Repair: white/blue smoke out exhaust, combustion chambers, leak down test

Question
I have a '99 ninja 900 with 3900 miles on it. When I got it I drained the oil and there was more than a gallon of gas in crankcase, probably flooded. I put new oil and a filter in it, new gas,and cleaned the carbs and plugs. It runs like brand new but white/blue smoke comes out exhaust,{smells like oil} espessialy when it gets warm and you rev it up. could you tell me what I should check next?

Answer
Hi Aaron,

Check cylinder compression and follow with a leak-down test if readings are out of service limits.

These tests will determine the sealing properties of the combustion chambers (condition of the engine). A leak-down will help locate the source of the faulty part(s).
