Motorcycle Repair: honda will not run, honda crf 80, shively

I questioned you last week about a Honda crf 80 f that would only run with the choke on. Later I found out my son had refilled it with kerosene.I cleaned the tank and carb and got it running a little but now it will not start at all. The kerosene was in the tank a few days before I knew this. Is the carb damaged? Terry

Hi Terry,

I doubt that the carburetor or other parts are damaged.

I suspect the carb will need thoroughly cleaned. I suspect the plug may have fouled, too.

Remove the spark plug, clean it and inspect the gap, and reinstall it. Check and clean the plug often until the problem is fixed.
