Motorcycle Repair: Engine cut out, scooter engine, clearer view

Hi Chris

I have a problem with my scooter engine cutting out.  It's a 125cc Jinlun twist and go and appears to cut out when weight is applied on top of the engine, i.e when you sit on the seat.  I'm not a heavy man so i don't think that's the problem!  I have taken off the seat to get a clearer view of the problem, started the engine and it's fine, put the seat back on and apply pressure, it cuts out!

Hi Mark.

Is there any wiring that runs under the seat, that may come in contact with the seat?  If so, then there could be a short in those wires, or they could be coming in contact with the ignition system or grounding against the engine or frame.  Find that short and relocate the wires.
