Motorcycle Repair: bad fuel pump or tps or other?, throttle positioning sensor, modern cars

Question
dear mark i recently bought a 2004 yzf r1 used.when i bought the biek there was no problems with it until i put about 1,000 miles on it.it seem to lack all power in all gears.but at 90mph in one gear it doesnt skip a beat at all.there isnt to much oil in the engine.but it just seems that it has no low end power.I have herd a lot about the Throttle Positioning sensor on these bikes going bad but ussually the bike shut down and some people also tell me that it might be the fuel pump. if you could get back to me you would really help thanks.

Answer
Hi Mark,

Right, the parts you mentioned do fail.

I recommend having a local Yamaha tech inspect the problem for you. Request an estimate of repairs and learn about the problem and cost, or just have the work done.

The tech will be able to quickly verify the TPS and ignition systems are working properly. Like modern cars, not stuff you can do at home anymore.
