Motorcycle Repair: motorcycle battery problem, kawasaki voyager, motorcycle battery

Question
Mark,I have a 1986 Kawasaki Voyager zn1300.The problem I have is the battery drains when the bike sits in my garage, usually within 4 weeks.I removed the fuses for the clock/radio to see if they were draining the battery,it still went dead.Later I just started removing the positive cable, but thats a pain.Is this problem easily repaired?Maybe I could rig a quick disconnect for the battery as a remedy. What's your opinion?

Answer
Hi Donnie,

Q:  "...Is this problem easily repaired?

A:  Yes. Find the current leak/bleed with a multi-meter (volt-ohm meter).

Q: "...Maybe I could rig a quick disconnect for the battery as a remedy. What's your opinion?

A:  Why live and ride with the problem? Find it and fix it.
